Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer required to join an expanding team for an exciting growth opportunity within the entertainment sector. Our client aims to leverage data science and machine learning to optimize customer data insights, enhancing revenue, customer satisfaction, retention, and acquisition. A new cloud-based data platform will integrate transactional and behavioral data, with the data engineering team playing a key role in collaboration across business areas. The role offers a vibrant work environment in Central London with flexible remote working options (2-3 days per week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Convert raw data into actionable insights for analytics and decision-making across functions.
• Maximize value from data and enable self-service for data platform users through collaboration and asset creation.
• Build and maintain data systems and pipelines.
• Assess business needs, recommend solutions, and lead detailed design processes.
• Provide technical leadership to other data engineers, including early career professionals.
• Monitor production systems, ensuring data updates are complete before access.
• Conduct complex data analyses and report findings.
• Prepare data for decision support tools like reports and dashboards.
• Enhance data quality and publish a data catalog.
• Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
• Develop analytical tools and programs.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• Expertise in SQL and Python.
• Proven experience delivering cloud data platforms.
• Input to product requirements and high-level design documentation.
• Ability to create detailed low-level designs and collaborate on development and deployment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Robust engineering skills working with data scientists and engineers.
• Experience integrating and optimizing data from various sources.

Desirable:

• Experience with AWS, FiveTran, DBT, and Snowflake.
• Leadership or management experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Certifications in AWS, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
