Job description

Role Overview

DUAL are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who can proactively work with key business stakeholders and IT to ensure we deliver solutions that meet their needs. The individual will have extensive experience in Microsoft SQL and ETL practices.

The successful individual will need to have experience working within a fast paced, agile and dynamic working environment ideally with experience gained within an MGA or insurance carrier.

Role Responsibilities
  • Delivering data solutions and changes for DUAL.
  • Builds data solutions where required to address changing requirements - managing new requests and incidents.
  • Can address complex data problems and support issues.
  • Assesses the impact of change on DUAL data model to determine and avoid any potential issues.
  • Consults with business analysts, architects, developers and system owners.
  • Work closely with our MI team to ensure data is accurately represented in dashboards and reports.
  • Builds knowledge and expertise of DUAL systems.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key requirements
  • Extensive SQL and ETL knowledge (10+ years).
  • Expertise to include MS-SQL Server, TSQL, ADF, Azure Databricks, Python, Data Lake.
  • Insurance MI or reporting experience.
  • Nice to Have - Data Warehouse, PowerShell, DevOPs, Advanced Excel, Power Query, CICD.
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and methodically.
  • A strong team player who is confident in their ability.
  • Very strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Proactively sharing 'best practice' with others across the organisation.
  • Actively listens to the views of colleagues, but also has the strength of character to challenge where required.
  • Planning, organising, and managing skills, and ability to prioritise.
  • 5+ years experience gained in an insurance MGA or carrier environment.
  • Good understanding of Insurance Operations, Credit Control and Finance.
