We’re looking for a Lead Data Scientist with a passion for ethical AI, healthcare impact, and scalable technology. In this role, you’ll lead the design and deployment of predictive models, benchmarking tools, and data pipelines that directly improve outcomes in social care. You’ll work at the intersection of advanced analytics and compassionate innovation, shaping the future of care intelligence across the UK and beyond.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement benchmarking methodologies using data from hundreds of care homes across clinical and operational metrics
  • Build scalable data science workflows using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and other Microsoft Azure services
  • Lead end-to-end development of predictive models (e.g., fall prediction, infection prevention) using Azure Machine Learning
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to embed ML outputs into dashboards and APIs via Power BI and Azure tools
  • Ensure transparency and compliance of models in alignment with healthcare data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR, NHS DSP Toolkit)
  • Conduct data exploration, hypothesis testing, and advanced statistical analyses to inform product and business decisions
  • Implement monitoring and retraining strategies for deployed models to ensure fairness and ongoing performance
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, ethical data science culture

What You’ll Bring:

  • Substantial experience in a senior or lead data science role, delivering production-grade ML models
  • Hands-on experience with Azure-based data pipelines and machine learning services
  • Advanced proficiency in Python (for ML) and SQL (for data manipulation)
  • Deep expertise in supervised and unsupervised ML techniques, benchmarking design, and statistical analysis
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure stack: AML, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Blob Storage/Data Lake
  • Familiarity with Power BI for report automation and data insight delivery
  • Knowledge of model explainability tools (e.g., SHAP, LIME) and responsible AI practices
  • Git proficiency, including use of hooks and pre-commit workflows
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex data insights to non-technical audiences
  • (Desirable) Experience with EHR, NHS, CQC, or other health/social care datasets
  • (Desirable) Experience in SaaS, multi-tenant architecture, or high-availability systems in healthcare or adult social care

What We Offer:

  • A base salary of £65,000 - £75,000 and bonus depending on experience
  • Modern town centre offices in Guildford, with opportunity for ad hoc home working
  • 25 days holiday
  • Net zero pension scheme
  • Additional perks including; cycle to work scheme, staff discounts portal and Employee Assistance Programme
