SR2 are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Data Engineer for financial services company in Central London.

Location: Central London (3 days a week onsite, 2 days WFH).

Key responsibilities:

1. Work with a data engineering team of 8 - 10 to help deliver key projects on time.
2. Analyse, implement, test and deliver robust data models, pipelines and workflows.
3. Work on messy, complex real-world data challenges.
4. Assure that data is cleansed, mapped, transformed and optimised for storage and querying according to business and technical requirements.
5. Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines to improve efficiency and quality of data processing.
6. Demonstrate strong programming / scripting skills (Python and SQL).
7. Work with increasing autonomy to shape the data engineering and technology work they do now and in the future.

Ideal background:

1. 5+ years in a Data Engineering position.
2. Strong experience with building data pipelines in the cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP).
3. Excellent knowledge of PySpark, Python and SQL fundamentals.
4. Familiar with Airflow, Databricks and/or BigQuery.
5. Ability to work on messy, complex real-world data challenges.
6. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
7. Experience working in finance previous would be beneficial but not essential.
