You’ll be joining our rapidly expanding Engineering team, collaborating with talented Data and Software Engineers and engaging closely with stakeholders across our Technology function and wider business. Your role is pivotal in driving our innovative solutions forward, aligning with our ambitious change agenda.

What Will You Be Doing
  • Advancing our Data Strategy by transitioning from traditional on-premises infrastructure to a cloud-based architecture.
  • Contributing to our cloud-native Data Platform using Microsoft Azure technologies including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and dbt.
  • Collaborating with Data Engineers, Analysts, and other colleagues to deliver trusted solutions that meet the Society’s information needs.
  • Participating in design and code reviews, providing guidance and mentoring.
  • Identifying process improvements and generating new ideas to maximize data value.
  • Embracing a culture of experimentation, continuous learning, and Agile delivery.
What Do We Need From You?
  • Experience in developing Azure Data solutions.
  • Knowledge of data modelling principles (star schema, snowflake, data vault).
  • Experience in end-to-end ETL/ELT solutions and maintaining an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, testing, and release management.
  • Understanding of business processes, requirements analysis, and full software development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD tools.
  • Proficiency with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Storage, and Key Vault.
  • Experience with source control systems like Git, and skills in SQL (Spark SQL) & Python (PySpark).
  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900).
  • Curiosity about technology, adaptability, and an agile mindset.
  • Willingness to mentor and support colleagues.
