Senior Data Center Strategic Negotiator, Acquisition and Development

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Real Estate, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience leading negotiations and business development.
  • Experience negotiating bilateral real estate agreements, managing projects of varying sizes, timelines, and scales.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with site selection, real estate transactions, evaluation, acquisition, development, construction, utility agreements, energy initiatives, financial modeling, or large collocation agreements.
  • Knowledge of taxes, economic development policy, infrastructure development, agreement drafting, and presentation development.
  • Knowledge of power transmission, telecommunications infrastructure, data center technology, electrical and cooling technology.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
About the Job

As Google's products grow, the Strategic Negotiation team secures infrastructure for the future, including underwater cables and data center space. You will leverage your market knowledge and tech industry insights to find solutions supporting Google's growth, manage vendor and partner relationships, and oversee contracts to optimize costs. You will lead projects, manage vendors, and present to leadership.

You will identify locations for data centers, establish agreements, and build relationships with landowners, energy companies, government officials, and third-party providers, leading negotiations for purchase and service agreements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies for leasing and colocation programs to deliver data center sites.
  • Create growth strategies for cloud markets and negotiate leasing agreements.
  • Conduct market development activities, monitor progress, and support portfolio decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as capacity planning, energy, design, construction, legal, and finance.
  • Develop metrics for portfolio management regarding site and infrastructure development.
