Job description

Job Title: Facilities Technician - Data Center

Google's Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems worldwide. Facilities Technicians at Google data centers operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions, including heating and cooling, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution, and control and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems.
  2. Assist technicians by reading blueprints, schematics, and sequences of operations, conducting system tours, and assessing system functionality.
  3. Manage uptime and maintenance of UPS, generators, electrical distribution, and control systems.
  4. Operate, monitor, and respond to abnormal conditions in data center systems and equipment.
  5. Support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical systems into the facilities infrastructure.
