Job summary

Agntx is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the migration of a legacy debt management database to Azure PostgreSQL. The role is hands-on, focusing on understanding the old database behavior and delivering a scalable, fast solution.

You will tune performance, implement data governance, security, and modelling across conceptual, logical and physical layers, with on-site Manchester work one day per week and the rest from home, inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Strong PostgreSQL performance tuning, replication and HA.
• Experience with database indexing and query plan analysis.
• Hands-on data migration to Azure including AKS.
• Proven data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical).
• Experience with data governance and data lineage.
• Knowledge of data security, access control and encryption.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and tune the legacy database for performance.
• Maintain stability via proactive monitoring and optimisation.
• Deliver the migration to Azure and modernisation strategy.
• Design scalable data models at all levels.
• Create data governance documentation and lineage artefacts.
• Apply data security controls, auditing and compliance.
