Job summary

Rotageek is seeking a senior Data Architect / Engineering Lead to shape and govern our analytics estate. You’ll own end-to-end data architecture, design a layered warehouse, and establish data contracts with Engineering while ensuring security and cross-team coherence.

Working with our global teams in Australia and across the UK, you’ll mentor others, set engineering standards, and drive AI-assisted data products built on trusted data.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience in data modelling for analytics.
• Ownership of a curated data layer used by others.
• Strong warehouse architecture experience with layered models.
• Strong SQL and dbt experience.
• Judgement on where logic belongs (warehouse/BI/app).
• Experience designing data contracts with Engineering.
• Experience with multi-tenant analytics and GDPR data.
• Experience treating analytics as software with Git and CI/CD.
• Leadership experience setting standards and mentoring.
• Ability to explain complex data and architecture clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics data architecture end to end.
• Build the foundational curated layer with dimensional models.
• Establish data contracts with Engineering.
• Define data modelling across warehouse, BI and app layers.
• Own multi-tenant security and operational health.
• Make deployment predictable via Git-based development and CI/CD.
• Set testing, observability, backfills and day-to-day analytics operation standards.
• Lead the Data Engineering discipline via standards and mentoring.
• Represent Data in architecture and cross-functional decisions.
• Coordinate with group data function and Australia team.
• Use AI to accelerate models and schema discovery with PII checks.
