Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of operational controls, business processes, and/or business analysis with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong execution skills, and an ability to drive and achieve results, ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met.
- Demonstrated ability to work with various data types, both structured and unstructured, and proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, R, and/or Python. Experience with R functions and models in Tableau is preferred.
- Knowledge of Tableau or PowerBI, MS Excel (e.g., VBA, macros, VLookups), Word, and PowerPoint required; Jira, SQL, or Access preferred.
- Experience in extracting and transforming data from multiple sources into workflows for BI dashboards; Alteryx knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to interact comfortably with different management levels and articulate issues clearly and succinctly.
- Self-starter and team player, capable of meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to resolve reporting and measurement requests effectively.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with excellent communication and project management skills; ability to anticipate user needs is a plus.
- Knowledge of Moody’s rating systems, analysis tools, and operational processes is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or a similar quantitative field, with at least four years of related experience.
Responsibilities
The Senior Data Analyst is vital to advancing the MIS Business Intelligence and Process Measurement strategy. This role involves leveraging statistical analyses and machine learning techniques to support data-driven decision-making across the organization, particularly in the credit rating process. Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing predictive and prescriptive models using Tableau to identify patterns, forecast trends, and assess risks.
- Applying statistical and machine learning techniques such as data mining, regression, time-series analysis, and decision trees to inform decisions. Collaborating with stakeholders to provide insights and best practices.
- Maintaining data quality and executing processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency.
- Performing root cause analyses, remediation, and process improvements to strengthen controls and enhance processes.
- Improving testing standards to ensure data integrity and stable workflows, supporting reliable dashboards.
- Developing expertise in the end-to-end credit and rating processes, regulatory policies, and operational procedures.
- Staying current with BI and data science trends, applying new learnings to optimize analytical insights.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational controls.
- Participating in cross-functional projects to implement improvements and address regulatory and business changes.
- Conducting root cause analyses, remediation, and process enhancements.
- Collaborating with teams across departments to implement process improvements and resolve issues.
