Job summary

Elsevier's STMJ Data & Analytics team in Oxford is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to own complex analytics products from question to delivery. You will partner with senior stakeholders and technical colleagues to contribute hands-on to data models and semantic layers for AI-driven solutions that enable reliable, reusable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a data-oriented role with a track record of owning complex projects.
• Fast-paced environment with bias for action and ability to influence stakeholders.
• Clear communicator capable of influencing senior and technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in data preparation and blending using Excel, Snowflake or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted product development is advantageous.
• Experience in scholarly publishing or related industry is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage complex analytics projects from planning through delivery, translating loosely defined business questions into the right data solutions.
• Collaborate directly with product managers, analytics engineers and other technologists on data product and solution development, applying governance principles to ensure reliability.
• Engage and influence internally, acting as a trusted thought partner to senior stakeholders, shaping strategy and data-driven decisions.
• Continuously adapt to new tools and techniques to improve end solutions and speed of delivery.
• Coach junior colleagues in business engagement, analysis design and end-to-end project management.
