Job summary

Elsevier in Oxford is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to own complex data products and analytics solutions, partnering with senior stakeholders and technical colleagues to turn business questions into trusted data deliverables.

You will work across the STMJ Data & Analytics team to deliver AI-based solutions, maintain reliable data models, and help shape data-driven decision making while mentoring juniors and driving speed and quality.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in a data-oriented role is essential, as is a proven track record of owning and managing complex projects to delivery.
• You are a confident and clear communicator who can influence both senior and technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of AI assisted product development practices is an advantage, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage complex analytics projects from planning through delivery, translating loosely defined business questions into the right data solutions to address them
• Collaborate directly with product managers, analytics engineers and other technologists on data product and solution development, applying governance principles to ensure our products are reliable and reusable
• Engage and influence internally, acting as a trusted thought partner to senior stakeholders, playing a direct role in shaping strategy and advocating for data-driven decision making
• Continuously adapt to new tools and technologies, adopting emerging techniques to improve our end solutions and critically, our speed of delivery
• Play a direct role in levelling up the team by coaching junior colleagues in business engagement, analysis design and end-to-end project management
