Job description

Thames Water is currently seeking a skilled and driven Senior Data Analyst to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support client managers by delivering expert insight and guidance across a broad range of business areas, from day-to-day operations to high-impact projects.

What you will be doing as the Senior Data Analyst:
  • Extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data, organizing, visualizing, analyzing, and presenting insights clearly and compellingly.
  • Contributing to the migration of data from legacy on-premise systems to the Azure Cloud.
  • Supporting Customer Service, Financial Customer Care, Wholesale units, and wider organizational reporting needs.
  • Providing operational data analysis and interpretation.
  • Offering expert advice to influence operational decisions.
  • Performing daily reporting and analysis, interpreting data into actionable insights.
  • Driving key business priorities through data, supporting operational decision-making.
  • Conducting scenario modeling and interpretation of operational data, collaborating across functions.
  • Monitoring, controlling, and reporting on risk and opportunity profiles.
  • Building reports and analyzing complex data to identify skills gaps or process issues, with recommendations for improvements.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams with effective data capture for regular and ad-hoc reporting.
What you should bring to the role:
  • Experience in data, analytics, and insights.
  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders.
  • Previous people management experience.
  • Commercial experience or equivalent.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Azure, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, SQL, including PL-SQL.
  • Programming experience in Python is highly desirable.
