As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Senior Data Analyst to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.

The main purpose of the role will be to provide insights across the end-to-end Supply Chain planning, performance and change programs. This role will provide technical expertise in data analysis, reporting, interpretation, and optimisation of data collection methods. The candidate will be a pivotal part of the leadership team in delivering deep-dive analytics and actionable insights that inform performance, data accuracy and business decision-making. The candidate should be able to work largely independently and with initiative to seek out areas of opportunity that will drive value into the business. This role will be office based, with some requirement to travel to operational sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Interpretation:

  • Collect, analyse, and interpret datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve business processes and outcomes.
  • Analyse performance metrics and work with operational teams to provide recommendations on root cause and corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection and analysis processes to enhance overall efficiency and data quality.
  • Develop and manage data performance reports for key stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders to interpret data and assist in the development of actions and quality improvement initiatives that will deliver change.
  • Assist in the development and interpretation of data models to optimise spend and deliver improved performance.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor data trends and anomalies to pre-empt and rectify potential issues.
  • Work with stakeholders on prioritisation of actions based on performance indicators and impact on overall performance measures.
  • Support the design and development interactive dashboards, reports, and visualisations using tools like Power BI
  • Ensure reports are tailored to meet the specific needs of various departments.

Person Specification

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in data analysis role, preferably in operations/retail/financial services, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Expertise in data analytic tools including, Excel (formulas, pivot tables and macros), SQL skills, and PowerBI for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in Python to aid simulation and optimisation modelling.
  • Strong technical skills in data analysis, optimisation, and dashboard creation.
  • Experience in supporting and utilising IT Applications and Platforms, including Data Warehouses.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesise large data sets into actionable insights.
  • Detailed knowledge of statistical techniques and data modelling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data findings to senior stakeholders and non-technical teams.
  • Confident, proactive and capable of working with complex tasks and projects towards deadlines within a matrix organisation.
  • Stakeholder management across matrix organisation to inform, influence and drive actionable insights.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot data issues and improve reporting processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Desirable Skills and Experience (not essential):

  • Experience of working within Retail in a network of physical stores and online.
  • Experience of WMS/ERP systems is desirable.
  • Experience working in performance management or similar functions in a complex organisation.
