TEAM

The role forms part of the Data Science & Analytics Centre of Excellence responsible for driving Analytics best practice across the business, to transform easyJet into the world’s leading data driven airline. The team is made up of a very diverse group of Data Analysts working collaboratively to guide and support Federated Data Analysts across the business, while also developing innovative bespoke solutions to the more complex business problems.

The Data Science & Analytics Centre of Excellence team is an integral part of the wider Data Science and Analytics function and is closely integrated with IT, especially in areas of Data Management, Data Engineering and Service Delivery. The team works closely with a growing number of internal stakeholders across easyJet on multiple transformation projects.

JOB PURPOSE

⦁ Delivering Data Analytics projects with minimal support from senior team members, providing decision recommendations that fulfil business requirements and enhance existing and new business processes
⦁ The end-to-end delivery of some of the Data Analytics work carried out by the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence, ensuring the most appropriate Data Analytics solutions are identified and delivered
⦁ Participating in the majority of the Data Analytics Project Lifecycle, utilising an intermediate knowledge level of the Data Analytics Toolbox and a good understanding of the nuances of the easyJet business
⦁ Supporting the management of the Federated Data Analyst community as a growing and thriving community of practice
⦁ Providing recommendations, in terms of tools, capabilities and best practices to help optimise the performance of both the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence and the Federated Data Analyst community across the business
⦁ Management Track:
⦁ Line managing a few junior team members with support from senior team members
⦁ Specialist Track:
⦁ Be a valued and trusted expert within the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence and across the Federated Data Analyst community

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

⦁ Contribute towards bridging the gap between the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence and business functions at an operation and tactical level, with a clear benefit/outcome-driven mentality
⦁ Contribute to and manage some of the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence work, in order to ensure the most appropriate Data Analytics solutions are identified and delivered
⦁ Compile, integrate, and analyse data from multiple sources to answer business questions
⦁ Analyse results and make recommendations to improve customer experience and business performance
⦁ Contribute to the majority of the Data Analytics Project Lifecycle
⦁ Ability to conceptualise, formulate, prototype and implement Data Analytics solutions to solve business problems
⦁ Work with senior team members to define and use the key performance indicators (KPIs) and diagnostics to measure performance against business goals
⦁ Understand and monitor data quality to improve confidence in the data used for analysis
⦁ Contribute to hiring and building a great pool of Data Analysts both for the Data Analytics Centre of Excellence and the Federated Data Analyst community across the business
⦁ Operate as Tech Lead on projects, interacting with stakeholders and managing other colleagues working on a project

Requirements of the Role

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

⦁ Strong analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated experience using data to drive business decisions in a commercial setting
⦁ Have experience of leading and landing a successful Data Analytics projects in a commercial setting
⦁ Have demonstrable commercial experience in data and analytics
⦁ Experience with SQL essential (any variation)
⦁ Experience with one or more scripting language (, R) to extract, manipulate and summarise data from large databases
⦁ Experience with business intelligence/data visualisation tools (such as Tableau, Thoughtspot, PowerBI)
⦁ Delivery mind-set, particularly when executing under challenging circumstances
⦁ Experience of working in cross functional teams and projects
⦁ Excellent oral and written communication skills, including storytelling with data
⦁ Great at understanding stakeholder requirements, creating a clear benefit case, and delivering data driven transformation/change
⦁ Are familiar following Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum)
⦁ Able to marry up business need and analytical delivery, while confident and credible in explaining own analyses
⦁ Have good coaching skills and mentor junior colleagues and peers in your team
⦁ A good analytical background, with a BSc in a scientific/engineering field (Statistics, Maths, Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Sciences) or equivalent commercial experience
