Responsibilities

• Fresh dairy and dairy plant alternatives R&D Sr. Product Developer
• Flora brand US is split into 4 product categories : Spread and butters, UHT creams and creamers, fresh dairy plant substitutes, and plant-based cheese.
• We are searching for a Senior Dairy Product Developer who can lead the product design for Fresh dairy and dairy alternatives type food, based in Kansas.
• As this is a growing team, we will add 1 or 2 Jr scientists to that team during 2025.
• Our R&D team will be equipped with a state-of-the-art pilot facility in order to support with all modern tools the required R&D actions to develop from scratch from lab via pilot to industrial launch.
• Key objective of the role :
• Leading the cream R&D product portfolio for all Fresh dairy and fresh dairy alternatives-related projects, with Cream cheese Dairy / Plant, Sour cream Butter, and butter blends for all channels (Retail, FS, private label, industrial)
• Translating consumer insights to designing together with international R&D support and local marketing new product extension and new product platforms
• Upscaling product idea from lab scale over pilot to Industrial Launch scale -
• Proactively translating and proposing business needs to build the funnels
• Continuously seeks new opportunities to improve quality and cost and translate for upscale feasibly, in teamwork with the local and international R&D business partner in Wageningen, Netherlands.
• Together with the compliance team all necessary internal and external regulatory requirements of Specifications LOl Nutritional's
• Optimizing and building with marketing the new US product portfolio into the future

About You

• Min 10 years of R&D experience in DAIRY Development
• Master of Science degree in Food Science- No PHD
• Unconventional ability to deliver tight timelines with passion
• Used to working in a local and international multifunctional project team environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to simplify the complex.
• Successful R&D project leader experience for larger multimillion upscale project
• Capability to do hands-on pilot and industrial trials
• Fermented dairy process and formulation experience are mandatory
• During your last years, you should have worked in a minimum 3 of the following product development areas
• Cream cheese dairy / plant (UF or Separator technology)
• Greek yogurt dairy (UF or Separator technology)
• UF technology application
• Formulation and experimental trial design
• Butter technology sweet and fermented
• Dairy fermentation applications modifying taste and texture
• Fruit or flavor prep compound preparation
