Proactive Appointments in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Cyber Security Engineer SME to own operational management, engineering and lifecycle maintenance of enterprise security tools. You will work across London and India teams to strengthen controls and drive continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates have hands-on security tooling expertise, strong Windows/Linux infrastructure knowledge and a track record of delivering secure, reliable platforms in large environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in cyber security or information security.
• Proven experience managing multiple security platforms in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong technical understanding of Windows Server, Linux, infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Cyber Security Tooling: Manage day-to-day operation, maintenance, configuration and lifecycle of enterprise security platforms.
• Red Team & Forensics: Support red team tools, digital forensics, EDR platforms and threat monitoring.
• Platform Engineering: Deploy, patch, upgrade and maintain security tools; roll out new features.
• Operational Support: Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, minimize reliance on infra teams.
• Infrastructure & Integration: Understand interactions with AD, DNS, GP, servers and networks.
• Security Controls: Maintain firewalls, access controls, MFA and email security policies.
• Analysis & Monitoring: Assist log analysis, threat monitoring and incident investigations.
• Tool Implementation: Evaluate, deploy and integrate new cyber security technologies.
• Risk & Assurance: Support vulnerability management, audits and compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Improve tooling performance, reduce incidents, enhance detection.
• Stakeholder Management: Document technical handovers with teams, vendors and audits.
