Job details

Digital Operations is at the forefront of providing robust technical support and transformational development for essential services including virtualisation technologies, SAN/Cloud Storage Platforms, and Azure/O365. The team ensures the seamless operation and reliability of core services across the Council. As a Senior Cyber Security Officer, you will lead high-risk, complex project work and cybersecurity operational duties to maintain a secure, robust and resilient infrastructure and digital services.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and undertake high-risk, complex cybersecurity project work and operational duties.
  • Contribute to maintaining a secure, robust and resilient infrastructure and digital services.
  • Support strategic initiatives to protect digital assets and safeguard the Council from cyber threats.
  • Provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices and incident response activities.
About you / Qualifications

Do you have:

  • Experience or knowledge in selecting and implementing cyber tools and systems.
  • Experience or knowledge in developing security operating procedures.
  • Experience or knowledge in applying routine security procedures (patching, access rights, malware protection, vulnerability testing).
  • Experience or knowledge in developing and testing rules to detect violations of security operating procedures.
  • Aptitude for following documented incident management, investigation and response guidelines.
  • Experience or knowledge in investigating suspected attacks and incidents, including the use of forensics where appropriate.
