Job summary

Global Relay is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join our UK team. You will deploy and operate advanced security tools, lead incident response, and drive continuous improvement across our security posture.

You will collaborate with DevOps, IT, and product teams to protect data and ensure regulatory alignment. The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of hands-on experience, strong cryptography knowledge, and practical experience with SIEM, WAF, EDR, and risk management.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years hands-on experience with core information security systems (firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, SIEM).
• 5-7+ years experience with Windows and Linux servers and network devices.
• Excellent knowledge of cryptography and cryptographic technologies.
• Proven escalation experience for security events root cause and resolution.
• CISSP or equivalent certification is desirable.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP/SMTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, DKIM/DMARC.
• Experience with ITIL-based incident, problem and change management.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve security controls across the organization.
• Design and implement cybersecurity solutions aligned with business goals.
• Manage security technologies (WAF, SIEM, EDR, HSM) and monitor threats.
• Lead incident response and threat intelligence activities.
• Ensure compliance with standards (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
• Mentor junior staff and communicate risks to stakeholders.
