Job summary

Thames Water Ltd. seeks a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement and sustain security capabilities across IT and OT environments. The role centers on early threat detection, rapid response, and reducing cyber risk through practical controls and telemetry integration.

Qualifications

• Experience in Security Engineering with a focus on detection and response.
• Strong IT and OT systems understanding in enterprise environments.
• Experience identifying and remediating cyber risks in evolving digital settings.
• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, email security and IAM technologies (Entra ID, CyberArk).
• Knowledge of cloud and network security and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security controls meeting business, compliance and risk needs.
• Integrate SIEM/controls to reduce detection and remediation times.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rota for SIEM health and log ingestion restoration.
• Manage security platforms (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, email security) and reporting.
• Collaborate with IT/OT to ensure controls align with baselines and standards.
• Support audits and risk reporting, driving continuous improvement.
