Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead design, implementation and ongoing effectiveness of security capabilities across IT and OT environments.

You will engineer detection, response, and risk reduction through practical, measurable controls, collaborating with IT, OT and security operations. This hands-on role requires strong security engineering expertise and the ability to obtain the necessary clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in Security Engineering with focus on detection & response in an enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of IT and OT systems and infrastructure.
• Experience identifying and remediating cyber risks in evolving digital environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to design, implement and maintain security controls that are measurable and operationally sustainable.
• Implement and maintain detection/response capabilities via SIEM integration and secure IT/OT systems.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support to respond to SIEM health alerts and restore log ingestion as needed.
• Manage use cases, data enrichment, and automated containment workflows.
• Develop and manage operational procedures and reporting methodologies.
• Oversee security platforms (SIEM, SOAR, EDR, email security) and coordinate remediation of gaps.
