Job summary

Experis - ManpowerGroup is seeking a Senior Cryptography & Information Security SME for a contract role in Knutsford. Hybrid work 3 days on site with a daily rate up to £662.40 umbrella inside IR35. You will design, implement and operate cryptographic services across a large enterprise.

The role requires deep cryptography expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, and governance alignment in regulated environments. 7+ years in information security and 5+ years cryptography experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cyber security, information security, computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of information security experience in enterprise environments.
• 5+ years hands-on cryptography experience.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, banking, insurance, or government.

Responsibilities

• Cryptography & Security Engineering: design, deploy, configure, and support enterprise cryptographic solutions.
• Manage cryptographic key lifecycle: generation, distribution, rotation, archival, destruction.
• Support and administer Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
• Manage enterprise PKI and certificate management platforms.
• Implement and maintain cryptographic controls per security and regulatory requirements.
• Lead technical reviews and security assessments of cryptographic implementations.
• Programme Delivery: support cryptography projects, POCs, testing, implementation, deployment.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, applications, and architecture teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams.
• Operations & Governance: support incident, risk, change management; develop documentation.
• Engage with stakeholders; present risks and solutions to leadership.
