Job summary

Kraken International is seeking a Senior Compliance Associate for market surveillance across regulated crypto markets. You will review alerts, investigate trading activity, and write up findings for senior compliance stakeholders.

We're looking for 2+ years in trade surveillance within a regulated firm, experience with AI-assisted investigations, and strong written communication. UK-based applicants fluent in English are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years experience in trade surveillance or market abuse investigations within a regulated firm.
• Knowledge of core market abuse typologies (spoofing, layering, wash trading, insider dealing, front running and ramping).
• Experience writing up case files and escalations to a standard others can rely on.
• Comfort using generative AI and other automation tools in investigations with appropriate oversight.
• Based in the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta, Romania or Canada, with fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Review and disposition surveillance alerts across regulated markets and document the reasoning clearly.
• Carry out analytical reviews starting from trade and order data rather than system alerts.
• Investigate escalated behaviour end to end and write up findings for senior compliance stakeholders.
• Assess referrals from across the business and externally, pursuing those that warrant action.
• Draft suspicious transaction and order reports and suspicious activity reports.
• Produce management information and regulatory reporting for covered entities.
• Contribute to surveillance platform and tooling, bringing new data sources into scope and test detections.
• Use AI and automation tools to speed up evidence gathering with human judgement over final calls.
