A Senior Crown Prosecutor role with the Crown Prosecution Service in Manchester, Liverpool or Preston offers the chance to work on complex cases across fraud, firearms, public order, and serious offences. You'll review evidence, advise on prosecutions, and advocate in magistrates' and Crown Court as required.

The role sits in magistrates' court, Crown Court or RASSO teams, with structured induction, four months of training, and clear progression to legal manager and crown advocate roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' criminal law experience or demonstrable experience of managing sensitive and complex cases.
• Commitment to public service and CPS values.
• Focus on personal development and career progression.

Responsabilités

• Advise police on casework and evidence requirements for a wide range of offences.
• Review case files and charging decisions, providing legal advice and deciding prosecutions in magistrates' or Crown Court.
• Advocate in magistrates' courts for serious and sensitive cases.
• Explain our decisions clearly to stakeholders including magistrates, counsel, victims, witnesses and the police.
• Work effectively as part of a multi-skilled team and maintain up-to-date knowledge of criminal offences.
