ROLE PURPOSE

We're looking for an ambitious senior CRM strategist who will be responsible for creating the overarching CRM approach for the year from which we hang the Tactical sale promotion activities. They will need to be able to adapt the Creative strategy for use in CRM channels like email, SMS, MMS but also recommend new ways for driving leads, loyalty, and retention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Understanding of Marketing Data: The ability to analyse and interpret customer data together with the Merkle Data team to identify trends and make informed decisions. Understanding marketing principles and strategies to effectively use CRM data for targeted marketing efforts.
  2. B2B: Experience working on B2B clients is essential, and experience working on telco would be beneficial.
  3. Customer Insights: Deep understanding of SOHO (0-9) customer behaviours, preferences, and needs to develop targeted and impactful creative strategies across tactical sales, and customer lifecycle stages.
  4. Communication Skills: Effective communication, both written and verbal, is essential for understanding customer needs and conveying strategies to clients.
  5. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to navigate challenges and find effective solutions.
  6. Relationship Building: It's a customer facing role and the CRM team have been a bit unloved the last couple of years due to restricted budgets and data challenges. The client has now sorted this so there will be renewed focus on the channels.
  7. Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  8. ABM: Experience working to develop and deliver account based marketing strategy and activations would be beneficial.

WHAT YOU BRING

  1. 4+ years CRM strategy experience, including running of a piece of business, in a top agency.
  2. Proven experience of briefing and developing creative work with teams.
  3. Experience of building relationships with clients, along with a proficiency in writing presentations and presenting with confidence.
  4. Understanding of key marketing theories (e.g. laws of growth, the works of Binet and Field, behavioural economics) and an ability to fluently apply these to strategy work.
  5. Knowledge of current and emerging research methods, including their strengths and weaknesses and likely outputs.
  6. Ability to synthesise 4Cs information to create new and provocative insights that we can use to develop more interesting and effective work.
  7. Confident use of key tools for insight generation e.g. GWI, YouGov, WARC. Fluent use of planning tools and templates e.g. planning cycle, ecosystem models.
  8. Understanding of measurement and effectiveness frameworks, what the key KPIs for a given campaign might be, and proxies for success. Clarity on how we might begin to measure these and ability to discuss implications with clients.
  9. A collaborative spirit, wanting to bring joy and a sense of play into the work - and to contribute to our agency culture.
