Job Description:

A leading global renewable energy generation business (Hydro, Biomass, Carbon Credits) is seeking to appoint its next Senior Credit Risk Manager.

The purpose of this position is to provide overall guidance and direction to the Commercial business units on credit and contractual risk matters, as well as independent oversight and challenge to ensure accountability for the Company’s credit and contractual risk.

Key accountabilities include:

• Provide independent credit risk oversight and reporting to risk management committees.
• Ensure credit and collateral policies align with risk appetite and are adhered to.
• Understand the Commercial businesses, associated risks, and provide independent credit risk advice and support.
• Collaborate with the Treasury team to assess and manage Group collateral positions.
• Track, report, and review appropriate credit exposures with support from risk analysts.
• Offer oversight and challenge to Commercial contracts.
• Manage credit risk within procurement, focusing on major projects and suppliers.
• Lead development of enhancements to the credit risk system.
• Conduct credit risk analysis and devise measures for new deals/products.
• Negotiate contracts to ensure alignment with risk appetite.
• Engage with changes in the Commercial business to manage risks.
• Monitor, review, and approve contracts as appropriate.
• Support projects and broader Risk team initiatives from a credit perspective.
• Ensure trading strategies rely on acceptable credit terms.

• Understanding of credit risk management for complex energy assets.
