Base pay range

Location: London

Salary: Up to £150,000 + competitive bonus

A leading global commodities trading house is looking to appoint a Senior Credit Risk Manager to join its London office. This is a high-impact role with leadership responsibilities, focusing on Crude Oil and Products trading in Emerging Markets, including Africa.

The position offers the opportunity to work closely with the front office, legal, and risk teams, and lead a small team of credit analysts. You’ll be central to ensuring commercial decisions are backed by robust credit risk assessment and aligned with internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advice to the business on counterparty risk and credit mitigations
• Recommend credit terms, internal limits, and use of security instruments
• Manage and monitor credit and performance risk exposure, including breach resolution and reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and procedures
• Lead negotiation and execution of master trading and netting agreements
• Mentor and manage a team of Credit Analysts
• Engage cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the trade lifecycle
• Contribute to internal risk projects and process enhancements

Requirements:

• Degree in Finance or related field
• 8+ years’ experience in commodities, ideally with crude oil exposure in Emerging Markets
• Strong background in credit risk within a trading environment or financial institution
• Solid understanding of security instruments and credit documentation (ISDAs, guarantees, LCs, netting)
• Familiarity with quantitative credit risk metrics (PFE, ECL, LGD, etc.)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Leadership experience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
