You and Your Team:

The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will utilize data-driven insights to develop, implement, and optimize Acquisition Strategies for VBG.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate, statistically validated credit risk models supporting model build, validation, and governance.
  • Evaluate data quality and communicate issues for analysis interpretation.
  • Research potential improvements in credit risk modeling, regulatory recommendations, and techniques.
  • Assess business impact of new model implementations via sensitivity analysis.
  • Support reporting and monitoring to ensure models remain appropriate.
  • Assist in preparing for internal credit risk model approvals.
  • Ensure documentation and communication of models and changes are thorough and aligned with Business Units and Risk Heads.
  • Participate in governance and technical forums as required.
  • Adhere to FCA Senior Manager Conduct rules.

Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Exceptional quantitative skills, including credit analytics.
  • Practical experience with statistical modeling techniques.
  • Ability to evaluate data quality.
  • Experience in credit risk modeling, especially in consumer credit or online lending sectors.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance frameworks.
  • Coding skills or transferable technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Practical application of statistical modeling techniques.
  • Strong communication and technical skills.
  • Experience with SAS/SQL/R or similar data mining tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of IFRS9 and credit risk forecasting.

Interview Process:

  • Initial 30-minute phone interview with Talent Acquisition.
  • Up to 60-minute competency interview with the hiring team.
  • Final interview with Daniel Betts, Head of Credit Risk.
