Job summary

Look Ahead is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance Team at our Head Office in Islington. The role offers £40,000 per year for a 35-hour week, with a supportive environment and opportunities to develop within a not-for-profit housing and care charity.

You will reduce debt, reconcile accounts, and build strong relationships with customers and internal partners. The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a comprehensive benefits package and training to help you

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in a Senior Credit Controller role
• Commercial exposure to the Income function
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Excellent IT and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Reduce debt by collecting payments on time and within terms and credit limits
• Ensure cash received is allocated to correct accounts and resolve underpayments/overpayments
• Regularly reconcile accounts to ensure proper allocations
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders
• Attend meetings to reduce debt risk and address payment barriers
• Review overdue debt and identify potential write-offs under Bad Debt provisions
• Escalate contested or non-recoverable debts after options explored and report findings
• Analyze Sales Ledger variances and agree action plans with Finance Income Manager
