Are you a resilient and experienced Credit Controller who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys supporting team growth as much as clearing a backlog?

We are working with a growing business in Leicester that is seeking a Senior Credit Controller on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company during a key phase of development and make a real difference within their finance function.

The Role
You will be joining a strong credit control team at a critical time, providing hands-on support to address a specific backlog of work. The business is growing, and while operational delivery is key, this role is also about mentoring and supporting colleagues, helping the team to develop their confidence, capability and overall performance.

You will need to strike the balance between leading by example and fitting in as part of the team, avoiding stepping on toes while helping raise standards and improve processes. The business values collaboration and emotional intelligence just as much as technical ability.

This is a full-time, office-based role, requiring someone who is confident, self-motivated and able to hit the ground running. You ll be working closely with finance leadership and will be trusted to get stuck in from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tackle and clear a backlog of aged debt with pace and professionalism
  • Support existing team members with day-to-day credit control issues and development
  • Monitor and improve processes where appropriate, without disrupting existing dynamics
  • Handle difficult conversations with customers effectively and empathetically
  • Report progress to finance leadership and suggest proactive improvements
