We're looking for Senior Credit Analysts

We're growing fast, and more customers means more credit decisions. Our credit team of 50+ analysts is expanding, and we're looking for experienced credit analysts or underwriters to assess our customers in a fast, fair, and accurate way.

About us

Fast, flexible finance empowers small businesses to manage their cash flow better and seize opportunities—making their business and the economy stronger as a whole. At iwoca, we do just that. We help businesses get the funds they need, when they need it, often within minutes.

We've already made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since we launched in 2012, and positioned ourselves as a leading Fintech in Europe. Our mission is to finance one million businesses. We'll get there by continuing to make our finance ever more relevant and accessible to more businesses by combining cutting-edge technology, data science, and a 5-star customer service.

Our culture

We're expanding fast across our offices in London, Leeds, and Frankfurt. With all this growth, we're looking for people who want to learn on the job and lead projects, knowing that your ideas will impact thousands of small businesses.

Your Mission

  1. To assess credit applications—using your experience, a variety of data sources, and our tech platform to make fast, fair, and accurate decisions.
  2. You will have autonomy in decisioning, with scope increasing as you build knowledge of our systems and processes.
  3. You will support other analysts on larger and more complex decisions, which is a key part of our workflow.
  4. Our credit decisioning is data-driven. You'll work alongside our analytics teams to optimize our approach to lending and adapt your own approach accordingly.

Requirements

We look for people who are smart, humble, motivated, and always looking to improve.

  • 4+ years experience in commercial loan underwriting, credit sanctioning, or credit analysis within the UK or European SME sector.
  • Strong business acumen and a working understanding of the risk and revenue drivers that influence the creditworthiness of a loan application.
  • The ability to interpret & analyze financial statements.
  • A motivated and enthusiastic attitude that works well in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills. You will have direct telephone contact with our customers, daily interaction within credit decisioning, and regular contact with other teams on cross-functional initiatives.
  • An analytical mindset with a practical approach to problem solving. You will come up with innovative and scalable solutions to day-to-day problems and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Work-life balance is incredibly important at iwoca, and we offer flexible working so you can make better use of your free time. This is a hybrid role, allowing you to split your time between the office and home, with an average office attendance of 3 times per week.

The salary

Our base salary range is £50,000 - £65,000. We aim to pay all employees fairly, regularly benchmarking salaries based on market rates and recognizing your increasing value to our business.

Our benefits

We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a brilliant place to work:

  • Offices in London, Leeds, and Frankfurt.
  • Events and clubs, like bingo, pub nights, yoga classes, football...
  • Two company retreats a year; we've been to France, Italy, Spain, and further afield.
  • Plenty of drinks and snacks in our offices.

We offer a wide range of benefits:

  • Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym memberships.
  • 25 days' holiday, an extra day off for your birthday, and the option to buy or sell an additional 5 days of annual leave.
  • Instant access to emotional and mental health support with our partner, Spill.
