Job Description:

This is a contract role inside IR35, based in Swindon, requiring 2-3 days onsite per week.

The Senior Creative Retoucher will push creative and technical boundaries to develop and perfect imagery supporting marketing materials across all media types globally. Responsibilities include simple to complex photorealistic retouching of high-end product stills, as well as full room-set, location, lifestyle, and beauty imagery.

You will lead visually and creatively, setting standards and crafting images that communicate our client’s engineering focus. Your software use will be innovative, with workflow and pipelines implemented skillfully to ensure exemplary final output.

Working independently or within teams, you will use your initiative, dive deep into briefs, and communicate fluently with both commercial and creative teams. The role offers significant creative input and leadership opportunities, working closely with Art Directors, Team Leaders, and the Head of Art during key image creation stages.

As a senior team member, you will demonstrate high initiative and commitment, with flexibility and adaptability. We promote a culture of knowledge sharing for skills development, encouraging a collaborative approach to learning where knowledge flows both ways.

You are an artist who has mastered your production and post-production tools, with a fundamental understanding of what makes a successful image—light, form, surface texture, and color. Your goal is continuous improvement, with attention to detail and perfection in your work.

Your portfolio should showcase mastery of visual language, with a mix of basic skills, innovation, and thoughtfully crafted solutions. It should demonstrate breadth and depth of artistic interest and extreme attention to detail.

Core skills include:

• Compositing: Excellent skills in merging visual elements into cohesive images, managing assets from various 3D and 2D packages, and creating the illusion of a single scene.
• Understanding of light behavior in real-world conditions to produce high-end photorealistic imagery, from traditional photography or CG experience.
• Retouching: Subtle, realistic, and sympathetic retouching skills, with a keen eye for color and detail. Confident and quick image manipulation skills, with strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe CC applications, including RGB to CMYK workflows.
• CGI: No skills required, but opportunities exist to collaborate with the CG team to develop your skills in this area, aiding your retouching output and career growth.
