Hitachi Rail Limited is seeking a Senior IP Counsel to protect and maximise the value of our technologies shaping sustainable mobility. You will advise senior leadership on patent, trademark, copyright and software/IP matters, across a global technology organisation.

The role requires extensive IP law experience, in-house exposure, and the ability to navigate complex cross-border deals, licensing and AI governance. Hybrid London work arrangement with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Vast experience in intellectual property law, including substantial in-house experience.
• Strong expertise in IP contracts, licensing, software and digital technology projects.
• Experience supporting complex commercial transactions and cross-border IP matters.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• An interest in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and implementation of Hitachi Rail's global IP strategy and governance.
• Provide practical and commercially focused IP advice to stakeholders across R&D, engineering, digital, procurement and sales.
• Advise on IP ownership, licensing, software, data and confidentiality matters.
