We are expanding our activities within the North West & Midlands region and are seeking somebody with the necessary skills and experience to assist us with this.Job DescriptionSenior Cost Verification Consultant / Cost Verification Consultant - Hybrid role (based in London, Manchester or West Midlands, Birmingham).We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Verification Consultant to bring additional service delivery and business development expertise to our Audit & Assurance team and help deliver our activities across a range of infrastructure projects.
With a well-honed aptitude for client-focused service delivery and a capacity for leading service delivery, you work closely with the Audit & Assurance lead in the ongoing service delivery of this business area.Responsibilities:Knowledge of construction / infrastructure industry and projects / programmesKnowledge of construction contract types, ideally NEC ContractsKnowledge of audit & assurance proceduresExperience of auditing in construction projectsExperience of finance and accounting systemsExperience in Cost/Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, AccountingDegree educated with professional qualificationExperience using auditing softwareStrong IT skills including advanced spreadsheet analysis, report writing and presentationsProfile - Person Profile:Experience of operating within a cost / PM / engineering consultancyExperience of delivering to deadlines and building strong client relationshipsExcellent report writing skillsKnowledge of common forms of contract (e.g. NEC & ICC) is preferredExcellent IT skills - previous experience in the use of auditing softwareKey Accountabilities:Proactively manage commissions / assignments to achieve agreed objectives with the client in a professional and ethical manner.Proactively develop business opportunities to support future workload.Assist the Audit & Assurance Lead in the production of regular reports, managing workload, delivering activities to a high standard, identifying and managing any potential conflicts of interests.Assist the Audit & Assurance Lead in the management, development and growth of the knowledge base within the Business Area - theory, services, markets, clients, rates and prices, etc.Develop and grow the team’s skills, expertise and capabilities by completing staff appraisals, coaching, mentoring and training.Develop personal and company networks to identify, cultivate and close business opportunities.Proactively participate in other areas of the business to achieve common goals in agreement with the Audit & Assurance Lead.Be fully conversant with and responsible for complying with all company policies and procedures specifiedMaintain effective communication with team.QualificationsRelevant Degree and / or professional qualification within the Audit & Assurance or Quantity Surveying disciplines.Additional InformationHybrid remote/in-officeWe are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company.
