Job summary

Construction in the UK is looking for a Senior Cost Manager to join the North East team and progress toward a senior role. The role focuses on cost management across infrastructure projects, with support for training, qualifications, and portfolio diversification.

You will work with clients and contractor teams to manage cost control, forecasts and final accounts, while driving efficiencies and governance throughout the project life cycle. A strong collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication across clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience with NEC3 contracts, Option C preferred.
  • Strong cost management and reporting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Establish professional relationships with clients and project teams.
  • Administer contracts in line with project objectives and policies.
  • Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to budget.
  • Manage cost variance, cash flow and timely applications.

Job description

If you are looking to broaden your industry experience and progress your career within cost management, our clients North east team are seeking experienced Cost Managers looking to develop their career into a senior position. Working on a range of industry leading infrastructure projects, we will support you in finding the right role within transportation, utilities and highways within our client base.

As a Senior Cost Manager within their business you will be working on some exciting projects as well as developing your skillset both operationally and technically. We are keen to support those who are keen to progress their careers and can offer you excellent training and advancement in qualifications and diversifying your portfolio.

Job Objectives
  • Establishing friendly, professional and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support.
  • Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with project objectives and policies.
  • Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion in line with budget.
  • Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow, and ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control and value engineering.
  • Managing contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practice.
  • Driving improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Proactively providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Leading people and commissions as needed.
Qualifications

Previous experience or a sound and suitable understanding of the following will be a distinct advantage in applying for this role:
