Our Manchester team is seeking experienced Cost Managers aiming to develop into senior roles within the industry. You will work on leading infrastructure projects across sectors such as transportation, utilities, and highways.

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will handle exciting projects and enhance your operational and technical skills. We support career progression through excellent training, qualifications, and portfolio diversification.

Job Objectives

1. Build professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and project stakeholders.
2. Administer contracts aligning with project goals and policies.
3. Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure project completion within budget.
4. Monitor and manage cost variances and cash flow proactively, ensuring timely and correct applications.
5. Collaborate with teams to meet project KPIs, including performance, cost control, and value engineering.
6. Manage contract changes effectively within governance and best practices.
7. Improve forecast and budget accuracy continually.
8. Offer commercial support and knowledge to stakeholders.
9. Negotiate and finalize accounts.
10. Lead teams and manage commissions as needed.

Qualifications

Applicants should ideally have:

• Strong communication skills
• Experience with Contract Management (preferably NEC3, Option C)
• Knowledge of Cost Management, Change Management, Valuation, Risk Management, Procurement, Estimating, Pricing, and Reporting
• A collaborative approach and best-for-project attitude
• Experience in sharing best practices and managing people and commissions
• Understanding of construction industry technical matters, procurement routes, value management, and engineering
• Degree in a relevant subject (preferred) and professional membership or working towards it
