Senior Cost Estimator – Shopfitting & High-End Fit-Out

Shoreditch, London (Hybrid Working)

A leading fit-out and project management consultancy—renowned for crafting exceptional commercial interiors—is on the lookout for a Senior Cost Estimator to join their London-based team. Specialising in high-spec retail and hospitality environments across the UK, they need a detail-driven professional.

The Role

This isn’t just about spreadsheets and figures (though you’ll be deep in those too). You’ll be the go-to person for accurate, insightful costing across the full project lifecycle—from early-stage concept pricing through to detailed estimating, procurement support, and final account. You’ll work closely with designers, project managers, suppliers, and clients to make sure every penny is well placed—and every fixture and fitting delivers value and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed cost plans, budget estimates, and value engineering options for bespoke fit-outs
2. Produce precise take-offs and bills of quantities for tendering
3. Review shop drawings and specifications to ensure accurate pricing
4. Analyse subcontractor quotes and supplier packages
5. Track project costs throughout delivery, identifying risks and savings
6. Support procurement and buying decisions
7. Liaise with clients and internal teams, offering clear and confident commercial advice
8. Keep a firm grip on variations and final accounts, ensuring nothing slips through the net

What You’ll Need:

1. Proven experience in cost estimating within the shopfitting or fit-out sector (retail, hospitality, or leisure especially)
2. An eye for detail and a love of the technical side—drawings, finishes, specifications
3. Strong working knowledge of estimating tools and cost databases
4. Experience working with joinery and bespoke fabrication is a big plus
5. Confident in a client-facing role and able to hold your own in design meetings
6. Quantity Surveying qualifications or trade background with strong estimating experience
