Senior Cost Estimator – Data Centre & BIM

Job summary

Soben seeks an experienced Estimator to lead cost estimation for complex projects, including large Data Centre bids. You will analyse designs, prepare detailed estimates, and coordinate with engineers and management to ensure accuracy and timely cost management.

With 8–10 years in estimating and familiarity with CostX, Candy, and Causeway, you will influence project decisions and support the reporting cycle for estimate changes. A MRICS or equivalent is preferred, based in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Professional accreditation (MRICS, AACE, ACostE, or equivalent) preferred.
• 8–10 years in estimating roles including leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong background in pre-contract and estimating for large Data Centre projects.
• Experience with estimating software and cost databases (CostX, Candy, Causeway).
• Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and translate to cost data.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates with appropriate level of detail based on design information.
• Analyze documents, drawings, and project plans to identify cost factors.
• Continuously evaluate estimates for risks or opportunities to keep projects within budget.
• Communicate estimating deliverables and findings to senior management and stakeholders.
• Obtain accurate pricing from databases, contractors and suppliers to support estimates.
• Review and finalise estimates reflecting current market conditions and project specifics.
• Collaborate with Clients to understand project scope and align estimates with goals.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior estimators.
