Job description

Job Title: Senior Cost Estimator

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £39,000+ depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

1. Support the business by creating cost and price estimates for existing contracts and new business, providing critical data and analysis for decision-making.
2. Generate and populate cost models using data from various sources, supported by Basis of Estimates (BOE) and Validated and Verified (V&V).
3. Provide cost estimating guidance to other departments and functions.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with customers and support price negotiations.
5. Support end-to-end cost estimating processes and understand their interactions.
6. Perform scenario and simulation analysis to inform business decisions.
7. Coach and mentor junior staff as needed.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

1. Degree or equivalent experience in Cost Estimation for major projects.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
3. Strong data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

1. Experience with estimating tools like Monte Carlo, Parametric, ProPricer.
