Job Description

The Senior Project Controls Engineer (SPCE) will be part of our regional project controls team, working on high-profile Natural Resources projects. Responsibilities include liaising with stakeholders, maintaining accurate cost data and reports (ACWP, EAC, performance analysis, earned value, variance analysis), reviewing cost impacts from performance issues, inflation, trends, forex, and formal changes, and providing project control reports with analysis and recommendations.

  • Produce and maintain accurate EAC data and variance analysis.
  • Understand the relationship between Cost and Schedule.
  • Utilize Cost Management and Reporting Systems effectively.
  • Coordinate and produce cost reports regularly.
  • Assist in Change process interpretation and implementation.
  • Apply Cost data to Risk and Opportunity assessments.
  • Review and integrate cost performance data from Tier 1 Contractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct Earned Value Analysis and communicate findings to management.
  • Contribute to regional and national Cost Principles and Guidance.
  • Adhere to Project governance and Cost standards.
  • Support project status reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience in project controls on major projects or programs.
  • Proficiency with cost management software such as Ecosys, ARES PRISM, or similar.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of project controls and management methodologies.
  • Understanding of earned value management, forecasting, and risk analysis.
  • Ability to build effective client relationships and articulate benefits.
  • Focus on efficiency, cost management, and budget delivery.
  • Ability to develop new business opportunities.
  • Strong meeting management and communication skills.
  • Proactive in providing feedback and ensuring service quality.
  • Leadership qualities including setting goals, managing performance, and motivating teams.
  • Ability to deliver value-added solutions and establish effective relationships.
