Job summary
Bouygues Travaux Publics, a leader in civil engineering, is seeking a Senior Cost Controller for the Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) project. Based in Tilbury, you will manage budgets, costs and risks forecasts, partner with site teams and present key figures to stakeholders.
This on-site role requires close collaboration with Production, Finance, PMO and Commercial teams, with regular cost tracking, earned value analysis (CPI/SPI) and dashboards to inform decisions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in cost control.
- Strong experience within major infrastructure environments.
- Literate user in SAP, Excel, Power BI.
Responsibilities
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and costs.
- Track evolving budgets and recovery plans, assess KPI’s.
- Perform Earned Value analysis (CPI/SPI) and forecast costs.
- Create and present dashboards to stakeholders including the Construction Director and client.

The Lower Thames Crossing (LTC)is one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects. LTC is a new road that will connect Kent and Essex through a tunnel beneath the River Thames and will be the greenest road ever built in the UK - creating six times more green space than road.The reliable new route will almost double road capacity over the river east of London to reduce congestion and give millions of people more choice on where they live, work and spend their valuable time.

Join our team as a Senior Cost Controller in charge of the tunnelling activities. Business partner close to the operational team, you will manage the budgets, costs and risks forecasts. We are seeking a Senior Cost Controller/Management Accountant/Financial Controller to manage the budgets, costs and risks of the Tunnelling activities.
This position involves regular engagement with internal stakeholders (Production teams, Finance, Cost Controllers, PMO, and Commercial teams) and external stakeholders (clients and auditors).
This is a key position requiring both deep understanding of on-site operations (progress, challenges, cost variations) and excellent communication skills to present findings clearly to clients.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets . Good understanding of the programme, the costs implications and the subsequent decisions.
- Track the evolving budgets and ways of recovery, assess KPI’s.
- Earned Value analysis (CPI and SPI indexes), close to site evolving challenges.
- Forecast the costs : report an accurate and shared forecast of future costs.
- Run scenarios and implications to support common decision making.
- Presentation of dashboards : communicate on shared KPI’s and analysis, internally to the Construction Director and externally to the client.
- Risk and compliance: ensure the processes and procedures are developed, shared and followed, inline with internal policies and regulations.
- Mentor the recent joiners of the team : sharing of knowledge, support and guidance to junior team members.
