Job summary

The Mason Group - Strategic Search Partners is assisting an internationally known CPG client in recruiting a hands-on Senior Cost Analyst for a 6-month contract.

The role supports post-implementation optimization after SAP S/4HANA rollout, with a hybrid work pattern (3 days in the office, 2 from home) and a focus on analyzing and resolving material Purchase Price Variances that impact financial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Proven experience as Senior Financial Analyst/Senior Cost Analyst focused on costing and variance analysis.
• Hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience.
• Deep understanding of PPVs and standard costing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and data skills; able to work with complex datasets.
• Problem-solving mindset with a drive to uncover root causes.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze Purchase Price Variances (PPVs) across materials and product lines.
• Identify root causes of PPVs including FX impacts, intercompany, margin eliminations and true cost changes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to validate findings and implement solutions.
• Work within SAP S/4HANA to extract, validate, and interpret costing data.
• Build and maintain data models to support variance analysis and reporting.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve costing accuracy and financial reporting.
