Job summary

Together - loans, mortgages & finance in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Corporate Underwriter to assess, underwrite and manage complex corporate real estate lending. You will work closely with the Corporate Sales and Portfolio Teams to deliver sustainable lending solutions for new and existing corporate customers.

You will be supported by a Corporate Case & Completion Manager and a Corporate Processing Executive, and you will lead underwriting discussions, presenting cases to Credit

Responsibilities

• Structure complex loan facilities aligned with customer needs and risk appetite
• Review and approve credit proposals meeting risk appetite and regulatory standards
• Lead underwriting discussions in credit committee meetings for senior stakeholders

Job Description

As a Senior Corporate Underwriter, you will work as part of our high performing Corporate Lending Team and be responsible for assessing, underwriting and managing complex corporate real estate transactions. Working closely with the Corporate Sales and Portfolio Teams, you will deliver appropriate lending solutions for new and existing Corporate Customers. The Corporate Lending Team collaborate with both direct customer and broker channels to achieve a commercially balanced sustainable solution, assessing the credit position and identifying the right option suitable to meet both the Customer and Together.

You will be supported with case load by a highly trained team, incorporating a Corporate Case and Completion Manager, in addition to a Corporate Processing Executive.

As a Senior Corporate Underwriter, we are looking for someone to:

• Evaluate and analyse credit and portfolio risk for both new and existing Customers with lending needs of £2m+
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, which include evaluation of financial statements, cash flows, market trends, and industry risks
• Assess the creditworthiness of high-value corporate clients, identifying key risks and mitigants in each loan proposal
• Structure complex loan facilities, ensuring terms and conditions are aligned with both the customer need and Together’s risk appetite
• Review and approve credit proposals, ensuring they meet risk appetite and regulatory standards
• Lead underwriting discussions in credit committee meetings and to Senior Stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations based on in-depth financial evaluations

Qualifications

Essential

• Extensive experience in a lending environment either as Lending Director or Senior Underwriter, providing credit analysis, or risk management of complex lending
• Advanced financial analysis capability — able to evaluate financial statements, cashflows, market trends, and industry risks
• Expert in structuring complex lending solutions aligned to customer needs and organisational risk appetite
• Strong credit governance and decision‑making — independently able to approve high‑value and complex credit applications using sound judgment
• Clear, confident communicator with senior stakeholders, able to present cases to Credit Committee and influence decisions
• Leadership in underwriting discussions, providing insight and recommendations based on thorough evaluation
