British American Tobacco United Kingdom has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Corporate Finance Manager – Reporting Developments in London

The Senior Corporate Finance Manager will lead adoption of reporting developments from an accounting and business process perspective, handling Group partners to deliver reporting and compliance objectives. The Group is listed across three jurisdictions (United Kingdom, United States and South Africa) the role will be responsible from a cross section of developments across these territories.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Proactive monitoring of accounting standards, regulatory requirements (e.g. UK Listing, Securities and Exchange Commission) ensuring that corporate financial reporting is proactively meeting the changing regulatory and accounting environment in an efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Responsible for review of assigned accounting /regulatory developments, preparing proposals on adoption considering business process implications, important metric implications and clearly articulating risks and mitigations of proposals.
  • Leading business process review/creating new business processes to support changes in regulatory development with clear consideration of controls, SOx, IT system and collaborator management.
  • Responsible for any opening balance sheet conversion, policy setting and ensuring appropriate approvals/governance is adhered to.
  • Review of reporting output and working with global partners to enhance reporting quality, compliance and understanding.
  • Stakeholder management and education of key functions End Markets, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Business Controls, and the Business Optimisation Centre.

What are we looking for?

Education/Qualifications

  • Professional financial qualification with at least 2 years post qualification experience

Technical/functional and leadership

  • IFRS and US GAAP strongly preferred
  • Financial reporting experience.
  • Experience of implementing changes in accounting standards or regulations within a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment preferred.
  • An understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems to include SAP and BPC.
  • Effective working relationships across multiple collaborators – including non finance.
  • Ability to work under pressure, keep to tight deadlines and be motivated to deal with ambiguity.
