Amazon Pay is seeking a talented attorney to support our growing payments business. The role involves counseling on a broad range of payment and regulatory matters, focusing on Unified Payment Interface, payment aggregation, merchant services, consumer lending facilitation, co-branded credit card programs, and merchant services.
You will collaborate with business and tech teams to structure complex transactions, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, and advise on information security issues. Additionally, you will explore new business opportunities in payments, assist with regulatory compliance, and facilitate product launches.
Key responsibilities include providing legal advice, resolving issues in commercial relationships, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, engaging with banks and network partners, managing disputes, and responding to regulatory complaints. You will also engage with industry bodies to influence policy, represent Amazon Pay in forums, and monitor regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong transactional background, be proactive, entrepreneurial, and capable of applying pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations. In-house experience at a technology or financial services company is a plus.
