Job Description:

Our Telco Partner is seeking a UK-qualified lawyer with experience in in-house or private practice, specializing in compliance, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and/or corporate M&A to join their supportive in-house legal team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage corporate governance and compliance within the UK business.
• Provide general commercial and corporate advice based on business needs and experience.
• Participate in areas such as corporate M&A and competition work as opportunities arise.
• Report to the Director of Legal and collaborate with the UK Strategy & Regulatory team and global compliance teams.
• Lead UK workstreams on corporate crime prevention, data privacy, electronic communications, and telecommunications security.
• Manage and develop a paralegal team focusing on Corporate Governance & Compliance.
• Update and maintain UK compliance policies regularly.
• Build a network of external contacts within relevant industry sectors.
• Manage UK corporate governance, including documents and local procedures.
• Coordinate with Group Treasury and Group Tax on financial controls and mandates.

EXPERIENCE

• Qualified lawyer in England & Wales with 10+ PQE.
• Proactive, independent worker experienced with diverse teams and senior management.
• Knowledgeable in legal & compliance matters, especially data protection and security.
• Interest and experience in company secretarial activities and corporate governance.
• Desirable experience in commercial contracts, corporate M&A, or competition law.
