Job summary

EY in London seeks a Senior Manager – Core Banking Architect to own target-state architecture for core banking, define domain models and API/event patterns, and ensure interoperability across multi-vendor squads.

You will embed AI-ready patterns, govern non-functional requirements, and translate business outcomes into design options while mentoring teams and contributing to proposals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in solution/domain architecture with core-modernisation experience.
• Mastery of domain-driven design, APIs/events, and modern platform patterns (microservices, containers, cloud).
• Stakeholder leadership with senior leadership teams; clear architecture artefacts.
• Fluency in NFR engineering (resilience, security, observability) and release governance in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Define target architectures for core and adjacent domains with clear API/event contracts.
• Lead strategic optioning and roadmaps with credible delivery pathways.
• Govern design quality and non-functional requirements; manage design risks.
• Embed AI-ready patterns and guardrails for AI use cases.
• Shape and deliver scalable, end-to-end solutions aligned with architectural standards.
• Act as conduit between business and technology; translate outcomes into design options.
• Provide high-quality guidance and documentation to enable secure build/run.
• Contribute to business development and proposal credibility; support mobilisation of wins.
• Develop people and communities of practice; coach junior colleagues.
