Job summary

Lovell Chohan solicitors seeks an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor to lead and manage residential conveyancing matters in a hybrid role based in Hounslow. You will handle complex files, maintain client care standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years PQE in residential conveyancing, strong leadership, AML knowledge and a proven track record of running busy caseloads with minimal supervision. This full-time position offers hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ PQE in residential conveyancing.
• Experience running a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
• Experience managing CQS, MLRO or compliance responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Acting for lenders in line with Lenders’ Handbook and lender requirements.
• Overseeing compliance with the Conveyancing Quality Scheme including file audits.
• Mentoring and reviewing work of junior solicitors and support staff.
• Building relationships with clients, agents, brokers and introducers.
• Contributing to marketing and business development.
• Ensuring compliance with SRA requirements and firm procedures.

Job description

Location: Hounslow/Hybrid (office and home)

Experience / Qualification: Minimum 8 years’ PQE
Department: Conveyancing
Salary: Dependent on experience and PQE
Holiday: 26 days + Bank Holidays (plus your birthday off after one year of service)
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

Overall Purpose of the Role

Acting for lenders in line with the UK Finance Mortgage Lenders’ Handbook and individual lender requirements.

Overseeing the department’s compliance with the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, including protocol adherence and file audits.

Supporting or holding MLRO and compliance responsibilities, including client due diligence, source of funds checks and suspicious activity reporting.

Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior solicitors, conveyancers and support staff.

Building strong relationships with clients, estate agents, brokers and other introducers.

Contributing to marketing and business development activity.

Ensuring compliance with SRA requirements and firm procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
• Minimum8 years’ PQEin residential conveyancing.
• Extensive experience running a residential conveyancing caseload independently.
• Experience managing CQS, MLRO or wider compliance responsibilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of freehold and leasehold property, Land Registry practice and SDLT.
• Thorough understanding of AML regulations and lender requirements.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
• Senior-level or management experience within a conveyancing department.
• Experience supervising fee earners and support staff.
• Established relationships with estate agents, brokers and other referrers.
• Experience of Islamic finance transactions.
