Job summary

Talk Staff Group Limited is assisting a well-reputed multi-service law firm in recruiting an experienced Assistant Head of Conveyancing at their Oxfordshire office, with travel to other branches. You will support the Head of Conveyancing, lead a team of conveyancing professionals, and help shape the department's future.

The role requires qualified conveyancers with strong residential experience, proven leadership, excellent client relations, and outstanding organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified as Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, or Chartered Legal Executive with significant conveyancing experience.
• Strong track record in handling residential conveyancing matters.
• Proven experience in leading a team, mentoring junior staff, and driving performance.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
• Client-focused approach with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head of Department with day-to-day management of the department.
• Managing a varied caseload of conveyancing transactions, including residential matters.
• Providing expert guidance and support to Conveyancing Team members.
• Delivering high levels of client service on a day-to-day basis.
• Building professional relationships with clients and peers.
• Collaborating with colleagues across departments to enhance service offerings.
• Conducting performance and file reviews within the department.
• Pro-active marketing and business development of the department, with the BD Director.
• Ensuring departmental procedures are AML and Lexcel compliant.
• Lead the department in the Head of Department's absence.
