Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Shropshire with hybrid working options. You will design electrical/controls concepts, review designs with hardware teams, and deliver software configurations for PLC, HMI, SCADA, robots and drives.

The role requires at least 3 years in a similar position and a foundation in electrical engineering or mechatronics, with a solid grasp of design principles and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum HND / Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar control systems role.
• Good understanding of control system design and implementation principles.

Responsibilities

• Understanding client requirements
• Complying with relevant legislation
• Applying industry standards and best-practice
• Following internal processes
• Electrical / controls concept design including Functional Design Specification, Safety Requirements Specification, Single Line Diagram, Network Topology, Device Layout, Cause & Effect Matrix, Safety Block Diagram, etc
• Hand over to the Hardware Design team and review of designs produced
• Software Design, including Software Design Specification and production of Software / Configuration deliverables for e.g PLC, HMI, SCADA, Robot, Drives etc
• Contribution to the Technical Construction File
• Factory Acceptance Testing, Commissioning and Site Acceptance Testing
• Other duties as required
